Shine webchat service going live Nov 25th

Nov 23, 2020

Shine is launching a new online chat service via the Shine website on November 25, International Day of the Elimination of Violence against Women. Anyone affected by domestic violence can access the online chat service from Shine’s website (www.2shine.org.nz), by clicking on the orange “Click here to chat with us” button in the right-hand bottom corner. Webchat messages will be answered by the same experienced team that run the Shine Helpline, providing family violence advice and support from 9am to 11pm every day.

“We are launching the new online chat service on November 25, the International Day of the Elimination of Violence against Women to show our support for the UN’s Orange the World campaign, which is asking for improved services for women and girls affected by violence,” says Holly.

“The online chat service and our Helpline are also available for men and non-binary or gender fluid people who need support for domestic violence.”

If anyone is in immediate danger, call 111 and ask for the police. If it is not safe to speak, push 55 on a mobile (any number on a landline) to be put through to Police.
