Westpac in NZ CSR top 3 with focus on gender equality
Westpac was one of three winners of this year’s New Zealand Corporate Social Responsibility Awards, and was particularly strong in the area of gender equality. As she accepted the award on behalf of Westpac, Tracy Dyson highlighted some Westpac accomplishments in this area, including working with Shine to ensure that their staff who experience domestic violence are supported at work to be safe, and partnering with Shine to develop an online domestic violence learning module that is now accessible for free through Shine’s website.

The 2017 Annual Review of the State of CSR in Australia and New Zealand is published by the Australian Centre for Corporate Social Responsibility (ACCSR), and is the largest ongoing longitudinal study of CSR practices down under. This year there were 1,215 respondents, a 12 percent increase on 2016. Gender equality was the highest ranked goal of participating businesses, with 66% of respondents declaring their organisations are planning to address this issue.
