Shine is launching a new team, Te Kakano Tumanako in the western suburbs of central Auckland. This is a new frontline service that will work with all members of a family/whanau in an intensive collaborative way within the team and with other professionals. The team will consist of 6 Safety Practitioners (2 x Children’s, 2 x Men’s, 2 x Women’s) and a registered Psychologist.

Social Workers/Safety Practitioners

We are seeking Women's, 2 Children's and 2 Men's Social Workers / Safety Practitioners - professionals with relevant qualifications or very strong family violence specialised experience to be part of a team who will be testing the efficacy of this innovative, evolving and intensive frontline service that is being provided to all members of a family/whanau. Members of this team will work in close collaboration with other community and statutory partners within a multi-agency framework.
To be successful in this role, you will have:

A degree level qualification relevant to the social sector or very strong family violence specialised experience.
A good understanding of the impact of domestic abuse on women and children and clarity about the responsibility and accountability required of those who have perpetrated abuse
Working knowledge and understanding of the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi and the application of these in client practice and within the workplace.
Experience of working with and successfully engaging with clients who have associated complex needs.
Experience of using a range of client intervention and therapeutic approaches.
Knowledge of and comfort with cultural groups and lifestyles different from your own.
Clarity about professional and personal boundaries.
Computer literacy in Microsoft Office applications, client management systems and a willingness to develop further skills.
Very well developed skills in case noting using recognised models of practice.
Excellent conflict and crisis management skills and the ability to deal with stressful and difficult situations.
A clean driver’s licence and reliable vehicle.

Psychologist

We are looking for a registered Psychologist with relevant qualifications & very strong family violence specialised experience to be part of a team who will be testing the efficacy of Te Kakano Tumanako - a new innovative, evolving and intensive frontline service that is being provided to all members of a family/whanau. Members of this team will work in close collaboration with other community and statutory partners within a multi-agency framework. For this role, you will need:

A postgratduate level qualification in Psychology. You will be a Registered Psychologist under the Clinical or General Scope of Practice and hold a valid Annual Practising Certificate.
A good understanding of the impact of domestic abuse on women and children and clarity about the responsibility and accountability required of those who have perpetrated abuse.
Working knowledge and understanding of the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi and the application of these in client practice and within the workplace.
Experience in undertaking clinical assessments & developing treatment plans.
Experience of working with and successfully engaging with clients who have associated complex needs, using a range of client intervention and therapeutic approaches.
Knowledge of and comfort with cultural groups and lifestyles different from your own.
Clarity about professional and personal boundaries.
Computer literacy in Microsoft Office applications, client management systems and a willingness to develop further skills.

This is a full-time role working 40 hours a week. Flexibility around days and hours is required and availability and willingness to work an evening and/or weekend shift if required will be necessary. Shine requires a commitment to living a violence free lifestyle, personally and professionally.
